Since our foundation in 2012, SMRO has become a beacon of hope, directing hundreds of millions in aid through the efforts of over 500 volunteers across 22 districts in Egypt and 2 in North and South Sudan.

Our activities include delivering education, constructing wells, and helping start family businesses, all aimed at fostering independence and improving the lives of those in poverty. This approach not only aids them but also enables them to help others, sparking a ripple effect that enhances the whole community.

Our vision is for a thriving, healthy community built on the strength of independent, well-fed families. We want every child in impoverished rural areas to receive a quality education and for clean drinking water to be accessible to everyone.

Allocating donations to where they're needed most

How it started

Before SMRO’s official establishment in Canada in 2012, we were already active in Egypt, working under a different name to improve living conditions and bring hope to the community. Our mission expanded in 2016 to North and South Sudan, broadening our reach and deepening our commitment to fight poverty.

Our Major Achievements

Since our founding, we’ve constructed 10 wells, each supporting approximately 2000 people. Additionally, we assist over 5000 families monthly, ensuring they have access to essentials like food, clothing, and healthcare.

Every year, SMRO directs funds to enroll hundreds of children and young adults in educational institutions. Furthermore, we’ve supplied medical treatments for surgeries to over 800 people and renovated 200 homes to protect families from harsh weather conditions.
